Tonight the Sun and Moon unite at 28 degrees Pisces to birth a New Moon. Lunation periods officially go from New Moon to New Moon, so by the time we are through this lunation period, we will have sailed through the portal of Spring Equinox and straight on til Easter. The Equinox marks the beginning of the Zodiacal year and already, 2026 has moved us through a number of important planetary transits, including the inauguration of the year of the Fire Horse.

Of all these planetary shifts, Neptune’s movement from Pisces into the sign of Aries on Feb 20 has shifted the energetics of the planetary landscape significantly. Neptune is the ruler of Pisces and it has been transiting through this sign since 2011. When a sign is transited by its planetary ruler, there is an amplification of the energies of both planet and sign. Neptune will not be potentizing the sign of Pisces again for 165 years. This is a once in a lifetime transit and it has been activating the closing of cycles on karmic relationships, patterns of behaviour based on deep conditioning, ancestral trauma and other circumstances that no longer serve the evolution of the Soul. This has been a season of loss.

In the bigger picture, this transit has been dissolving collective trauma resulting from the hi-jacking of true power – Soul power, Divine Intelligence power – by forces working to distort and manipulate it as an agent of control and authoritarianism. The distortion of the messages of the many true avatars and teachers who have appeared during the Age of Pisces over the last 2,500 years has been used to subjugate humankind and extract profit for the benefit of those wielding power to corrupt and control.

It is true that rules- based religious systems have played a role in supporting our evolution by providing guidelines for right human relationships when the dominant frequency on this planet was relatively low. But now, the moment of our spiritual maturity has come. The Age of Pisces cycles down and the Age of Aquarius arises. It is believed by many astrologers that we stand now upon that threshold.

The awakening and liberation energy of Aquarius operates as a collective moment of realization that we do and have always held divine intelligence within us and that we are not separate in any way from that. It is no accident that we have incarnated on a planet of form and materiality. In nature forms are fully imbued and at one with their embodied divinity, making Nature our first and probably most reliable textbook. The natural world is already awake and expressing its divine essence. It is only humanity who has been trapped in the illusion of separation, that materiality enables. Mistakenly believing that heaven is above us, that the Creator is outside of us and that we have been banished from the Garden of Eden, has kept us trapped in the illusion of powerlessness.

But the exit strategy has always been there in plain sight as a running thread in the many stories of separation and return which run through our mythologies, sacred texts and teachings. The Hero’s Journey – one of our most foundational stories – has the hero, usually orphaned, setting out on journey of discovery, facing disillusionment, danger and despair before a triumphant return. He then offers his newly realized wisdom for the benefit of his community…separation, realization, unification.

But Pisces’ glyph - two fish swimming in opposite directions, implies they are immersed in a watery realm and this adds another layer of complexity to the story. The fish represent separation, duality, the pairs of opposites. But it is the Ocean within which the fishes swim that, by its very nature, holds the key to resolving duality. Because once the fishes realize that the inevitable problems arising out of division and swimming in opposition to one’s other half are resolved by recognizing what has been holding and supporting them all along, they have the key that returns them to the garden and to their original nature.

Pisces teaches that only by experiencing duality can we learn what has been missing. Seeking for the third element - that which is “above” the duality, and which transforms duality into trinity, moves us into a completely new frequency. This ultimate realization is hidden in plain sight and can only really be recognized by awakening from the illusion that separation and swimming in opposite directions are the only options. The truth is, just like the fish, we have always been swimming in Unity consciousness – we just didn’t know it. As the Aquarian age dawns, and we are reoriented to the energetics of a completely new frequency, what was once been veiled becomes obvious.

And once we realize this, we can no longer be controlled by any power or authority which relies on separation to divide and conquer – the game is over.

And yet, even knowing this, like birds in a cage with a wide open door, our freedom relies on having the insight to see the door is open and the courage to leave the confines of the cage and fly.

And so this New Moon represents both the Alpha and the Omega. The closing of cycles that has been active since 2011, and intensified greatly over the last 16 months when the Nodes of the Moon went into Pisces and its opposite, Virgo and the opening of new cycles as Neptune, Saturn and most of the inner planets make their way to the initiatory degrees of Aries. Over the last 14 years, we have suffered many losses, painful karmic closures, illusions shattered and many tears of grief. These next days are for rest, reflection and Inner looking. Mercury, which will end it retrograde exactly on the Equinox, is conjoined today with the North Node of the Moon and this speaks of messages, downloads and dreams incoming. Have your journal ready.

Along with Neptune and Saturn’s recent movement into Aries – the sign of new beginnings Jupiter, the guru, has only days ago moved forward in the nurturing and caring sign of Cancer. We are gently encouraged to open our hearts and arms to receive the love and support of others in our lives and of the Divine Feminine energy of the Great Mother who stands ready to help.

On Friday we pause and connect as the Sun moves onto the potent point of 0 Aries at the Equinox and after that we speed forward to Easter and beyond...

But for now it is time to just BE in this Unified field of consciousness that presents itself today as the last degrees of the last sign of the last house in the Zodiac draws to a close before a new dawn breaks.
